Eid Cakes

The Arab Islamic holidays are distinguished by a specific type of sweets, the most important of which are Eid cakes, consisting of semolina or flour, butter, stuffed with nuts, dates, or pistachios. In this article, we show you some of the ways to prepare Eid cakes.

Cakes with semolina

the ingredients

  • Half a kilogram of fine semolina.
  • Half a kilogram of coarse semolina.
  • A cup of white flour.
  • One hundred grams, half a cup of crushed sugar.
  • A teaspoon of cake spices (schum, anise, and must be ground).
  • Four hundred grams, two cups of well melted obesity over the fire.
  • Half a cup of blossom water.
  • Half a cup of rose water.
  • A small spoonful of yeast dissolve in a quarter cup of warm water.
  • A cup of warm water.

Filling components
  • A quarter of a kilo of sliced ​​dates, chopped in a special mincer with the addition of two tablespoons of ghee, or kneaded by hand and carved into pieces to form a filling for the dough
  • When dates are kneaded with margarine, cake spices can be added to them to show the date flavor.

How to prepare

  • We mix all the dry materials with each other, after which we add obesity and rub the mixture with fingers and not kneading, then we leave it for a full night or twelve hours with rubbing all of it at least four times and covering it, and before the dough is used we add the yeast dissolved in warm water.
  • We add rose water, blossom water and a cup of water, knead the dough well and allow it to ferment for an hour before cutting it or using it.
  • After the dough is fermented, prepare the cake preparation tools (molds, grill trays, cutting trays, and pre-prepared filling).
  • We start cutting the dough in the form of small balls and stuffing it with dates, and we continue to do so until we stuff all the pieces of dough, and after we stuff them all, we start stacking them inside the mold and taking them out of it and arranging them on the inside of the grilling trays (without we greasing the grill tray, the ghee in the dough is enough not to stick to it).
  • Preheat the oven to a medium temperature and grill all trays, and wait for the cakes to cool down, and before we serve it, you can sprinkle the ground sugar on the cakes' face with a tea strainer and serve it with the other types of cakes and other desserts.

Sesame Cakes
