The first advocate of Islam
Our noble Messenger Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, is considered the first advocate to God Almighty and to the religion of Islam, and the evidence for this is the words of God Almighty: “O Prophet, we have sent you a witness, an evangelist, an evangelist and a preacher to God with his permission and an enlightening lamp” (Al- Ahzab )The Holy Qur’an repeated the speech to the Holy Prophet , may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, as he commands him to call to God, to continue with it, and not to turn away from it. Among these noble verses:
- The Almighty saying: (I pray to your Lord that you are rightly guided) (Al-Hajj, 67).
- The Almighty saying: (Call on your Lord and do not be among the polytheists) (Al- Qasas , 87).
- The Almighty saying: “Say: I only commanded to worship God and not associate with him, to whom I pray and call him (Maher, 36).
And he continued, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, by calling to his Lord, Blessed and Exalted, until He received the certainty from his Lord, and He became satisfied with him, and He was rewarded with good and reward for Muslims.
The apostles ’call to God
The call to God was not limited to our noble Messenger Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him only, but it was a function for all messengers, as the apostles called on people to believe in God and to singly worship him in the manner that he had prescribed for them. From the foregoing, it becomes clear to us that all of the messengers of God Almighty called to worship Him alone, and to repudiate the worship of others. God Almighty said: “We have sent in every nation a messenger that worship God and spare the tyrant” (Al-Nahl, 36). God chose them to carry his call and communicate it to people ([1])
Quranic Evidence for the Apostles' Call to Belief in God
- The Most High said on the authority of Noah, peace be upon him: “We sent Noah to his people, and he said, O people, serve God what you have from another god” (Al-A'raf, 59).
- The Almighty said about Hud, peace be upon him: “And until their brother returned to Hud, he said, O people, serve God what you have from another god” (Al-A'raf, 65).
- The Most High said on the authority of Saleh: “And to their brother Thamood Salih, he said: Rise, serve Allah, what you have from another god” (Al-A'raf, 73).
- The Most High said on the authority of Shuaib (peace be upon him): “To the debtor of their brother, a people, he said: Rise, serve God, what you have from another god” (Al-A'raf, 85).
The role of the Islamic nation in the call to God
Each Muslim and Muslim are assigned to call on God, because the Muslim nation is made up of them. Every sane adult of the Islamic nation is charged with this duty, male or female. And the Islamic nation is a partner to its noble Messenger in the function of calling to God Almighty, and this is something that God honored His servants, and this honor and honor is not only benefited from the divine speeches of his Messenger by calling him as we mentioned, but it is also explicit and mentioned many verses in the Holy Qur’an, Almighty said: “ You were the best nation to bring people to enjoin good and forbid evil, ”(Al-Imran, 110). This noble verse has two meanings:
- Charity of the Islamic nation in the invitation.
- The Islamic Ummah’s promotion of virtue and forbidding evil is the reason for its being the last of the nations.
The matter becomes even more clear by the words of our Lord, the Greatest of His Majesty: “Say: This is my path. Believers follow the Messenger of God with insight, meaning knowledge and certainty. This means that it is one of the necessary supplies for a Muslim's faith to pray to God. If he fails to call, this failure indicates that there is a lack or defect in his faith, and he must be corrected by carrying out this duty, the duty of calling to God.
Imam Ibn Katheer said in his interpretation of this verse: “God Almighty says to His Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to tell people that this is his path, i.e. his method, his course and his Sunnah. Insight, certainty, mental and legal proof "
In the words of the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and addressing those who attended Arafat in the farewell excuse, evidence of the role of the Islamic nation in the call, where he said: (Shouldn't the witness inform you of the absent) ([3]). And the meaning of the witness includes every Muslim who knows something about Islam.
Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice
It is the job of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and the messengers of all of God, and the first thing that enters in the promotion of virtue and forbidding what is evil is the call to God alone, and innocence from all kinds of polytheism .And the Qur’an stated that it is among the characteristics of believers to call to God, unlike the hypocrites who reject God’s path and call to others. And the evidence is:
- The Almighty said: (The hypocrites and the hypocrites of each other order the evil and forbid what is known) ( At-Tawbah , 67).
- The Almighty said: (The believers and the believers are each other's guardians, ordering and forbidding what is wrong) (At-Tawbah, 71).
- The Almighty said of his Messenger: (He commands them to the good and forbids them from evil, and he permits them to have good things and forbids them from evil) (Al-A'raf, 157).
Ways to call to God
- Call to God individually
- Advocating for God collectively
- The words of God, Blessed and Exalted be He: “Let there be a nation among you who preach goodness and enjoin good and forbid evil, and those are the successful ones” (Surah Al-Imran, 104) ([4]).
- It was also proven from the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said: “He who thinks of you is evil will change him with his hand.
- The Almighty said: “Help the righteous and the righteous, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression” ( Al-Ma’idah , 2).
Is the invitation to God restricted to the clergy?
Of course , the answer is no, there is no specialized scientists or as designated by some men of religion the origin of this duty; because the call the duty of everyone, and the role of specialists , scientists have matters of religion , and to notify the details of its provisions and its meanings due to the capacity of their knowledge and their knowledge of its Bdziyate. The answer will also be with Imam Ibn Katheer saying: "That a group from this nation be confronted with this matter, even if that is a duty for every member of the nation according to it." For making the obligation obligatory for every individual, with the necessity of having a group dealing with the issue of the call to good, and accordingly the call to good and the highest of which is the call to God is obligatory for every Muslim to the best of his ability, because this call is one of the attributes of believers,
And the honorable hadith instructed every Muslim and obelisk to remove what is wrong according to his ability, and the matter in the Muslim is an initiative to enjoin good and forbid evil without waiting for others, as others may not do it and fall into sin.
Why was the Muslim assigned to call to God Almighty?
Islam was not satisfied that the Muslim is only a good and a guide in himself, but rather ordered him to be a good and a guide to others as well, due to several reasons, we will detail each of them separately.Complete the message of Muhammad, peace be upon him
God Almighty sent His Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, to all people: (Say, O people, I am the Messenger of God to all of you) (Al-A'raf, 158). His message , peace be upon him , is a rest until the Day of Judgment, and its purpose is the guidance of all creation to win happiness in both worlds, and for this his message was a mercy to the worlds. The Almighty said: “We have not sent you but mercy to the worlds” (Al-Anbiya, 107).He , peace and blessings be upon him, conveyed the message of his Lord and proceeded to his honorable satisfaction, satisfying him, so it was imperative for Muslims to rise after him and communicate the call of Islam to the people of the earth to guide them and bring them from darkness to light. The Almighty said: “See a book that we sent to you to bring people out of darkness into the light, with the permission of their Lord, to the path of the dear and benign” (Ibrahim, 1). A martyr) (Al-Baqara, 143).
For a Muslim to pray to God leads to the greatest benefit and help to His servants, because he extends to them a generous hand that saves them from the abomination of polytheism and idolatry, and puts them on the straight path of God; The Almighty said: (And I created the jinn and mankind except to worship) (Dhuriyat, 56)
Removing the influence of unbelief on the meanings of Islam
The presence of polytheism and disbelief in the land affects sooner or later the existing meanings of Islam in any aspect of the earth, and thus prevents Muslim Islam from staying in the homes of unbelief, and instructs him to say to the homes of Islam if he is not fascinated in his religion, or incite his heart, or take away his faith, he said The Almighty: (Those who died by the angels unjust themselves said: What were you when we said we were weak on the earth, they said: Was not God’s land wide, so they migrated in it? Those are their shelters of hell and misfortune fate) (An-Nisa ’, 97). The people of Tafsir said in this verse: It was revealed in everyone who lived among the homes of the polytheists, and he is able to emigrate, and he is not able to establish the debt in it.Paying perdition and torment for Muslims
The Almighty said: (And fear of strife that does not afflict those who did wrong to you in particular, and know that God is severely punished) (Al-Anfal: 25).Call to God as much as the supplicant and his ability
It has been evident from the foregoing that the call to God is obligatory for every Muslim, and this duty is determined by the condition of the caller and his ability, because the ability is the duty of the obligation and its ability, so whoever cannot, he must not, and who is able, it is obligatory upon him as much as his ability, and he enters into the concept of ability: knowledge and authority; On the world unless the ignorant must, and must the authority of the authority unless the ignorant must, and the authority of the authority must not other than the other Muslims. Therefore, God Almighty singled out warning and intimidation of the scholars, God said: (Those who conceal sent down from the evidence and the guidance after what we have pointed out to the people in the book of those curse God and curse them blasphemers, except those who repent and make amends and Benoit Those repent for them and I am the Most Merciful) (Cow , 159-160).
